New gas-powered Chevy Equinox to start under $30,000

(April 29, 2024) Chevrolet said last week that its redesigned gasoline-powered Equinox compact crossover will start below $30,000 when it goes on sale this year. The 2025 Equinox LT trim level starts at $29,995 with shipping for front-wheel drive and $31,995 for all-wheel drive. The outgoing Equinox starts at $27,995 for the LS, which has been discontinued with the redesign, and $30,890 for the entry-level LT model.

Chevy redesigned its bestselling crossover and No. 2 U.S. nameplate for a fourth generation, giving it a more rugged, truck-like appearance that mirrors other products in the brand's lineup. The Equinox will be sold in three trim levels — the LT, a sportier RS and the off-road-inspired Activ.

The RS and Activ trim levels with FWD both start at $34,395, while AWD versions of both start at $36,395, Chevy said. The electric version of the Equinox, which also goes on sale this year, starts at $34,995 with shipping before a $7,500 federal tax credit.

The gasoline-powered compact crossover now comes with an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with an 11-inch driver information screen, as well as more standard safety and driver-assistance features on all trim levels.

Orders have started and production is expected to begin midyear.
